Frank Danielson is a Kingston-based oil painter. His work explores the unconscious resonation of everyday objects and experiences through the interaction of abstraction and realism. Danielson completed his BFA at York University and has held solo exhibitions of his work in Japan, France, and Canada.. " I allow experiences, images, and emotion, assimilated by the unconscious, to resurface in my paintings. This is facilitated by contrasting an abstraction that expresses a distinctive idea or emotion with an image that carries both personal and cultural significance. Through this learning process, I achieve unexpected results that reveal the paradoxical nature of visual representation." Current exhibition of new work at studio22.
