Saturday January 25th, 2014
8 pm

Featuring musical accomplices:  Douglas Atkinson, piano  Bob Arlidge, bass  Jak Thrasher,  percussion.

Studio 22 invites you to attend songLab, an evening of musical discovery with Kirk Elliott, Toronto composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist.  Mr. Elliott, a music graduate from Queen's University and a part of Kingston's musical fabric for many years, will present and discuss examples of his recent works composed for film, TV, theatre and concerts, and will perform on several instruments including violin, vielle (medieval fiddle), bouzouki, svenskpipa (Swedish bagpipes), medieval pipes, and flute.  Musical examples range from a rare 13th century troubador song written by an anonymous woman for her Crusading lover, to Kirk's latest "opus", You're Not the Mayor of Me, a song about Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
