Description: Royal Red Swanton calla lily with Belgium Black pistil, mounted onto detachable forged bronze, secured by a granite base.
In a playful and sarcastic manner, I titled this piece “defenceless” as the materials utilized in this sculpture are impermeable to the effects of time and the elements. There are qualities in this sculpture to which I am defenceless against, such as the elegance and seduction of the Belgium black marble pistil, and the seductive lines and sensual tones of the Royal Red marble. The forged bronze stem and granite base delicately supports the calla lily and allows the flower to be observed without obstructions.
